Energy & Power

WEST has been a leader in the field of energy project impact assessment, monitoring, natural resources research, and permitting since 1990. WEST has successfully worked for stakeholders involved in energy issues, including state and federal agencies, industry, consultants, utilities, and conservation organizations. Our team includes professional scientists and statisticians that understand wind energy development and operations and have strong relationships with local and regional staff within the US Fish and Wildlife Service and other federal agencies, such as the Bureau of Land Management, as well as state and local agencies.

Power Infrastructure & Monitoring

Pipelines

WEST’s extensive experience conducting surveys for various types of pipelines and pipeline construction projects includes large multi-state pipeline projects and smaller intrastate pipeline projects throughout the US.

WEST has conducted countless wildlife surveys, inventories, and impact assessments across North America for a variety of entities, including multiple federal, state, county, and municipal governments across the US.

WEST’s combined statistical and ecological approach to wildlife research and management provides our government entity clients with scientifically credible results that are defensible, objective, and concise. Our expert ecologists develop survey protocols and assemble field crews of all sizes to meet schedule and survey effort needs for a wide range of projects while employing the very latest techniques, field equipment, and study methodologies. Our biometricians employ the most current statistical methods and have extensive experience designing studies and analyzing data for a variety of wildlife issues. US Army Corps of Engineers

The WEST team has worked on a variety of US Army Corps of Engineers projects throughout the US, providing sound scientific management throughout different stages of the National Environmental Policy Act process.

Bureau of Land Management

WEST has provided ecological and statistical consulting on a variety of projects for the US Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management.

US Fish & Wildlife Service

The WEST team has more than two decades of experience on a wide array of projects specifically for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, in addition to many projects for private clients that involve regular interaction with the agency.

US Forest Service

WEST brings together an experienced team of ecologists and biometricians who have worked on a range of projects for the US Forest Service, and on issues pertinent to the forest industry.

Departments of Transportation

The WEST team has supported various Department of Transportation roadway projects for nearly three decades. Our staff of biologists, ecologists, and statisticians are experts in their fields who have existing relationships with various Departments of Transportation, state and federal agencies, and other resource-based groups.
