WEST Supports Miles for Monarchs 2026

Monarch butterflies complete an amazing biological feat each year: these small insects travel up to 3,000 miles annually between breeding grounds in North America and their overwintering sites in Mexico and coastal California. Unfortunately, this charismatic species has been declining due to multiple factors, primarily habitat loss throughout its range.

WEST is proud to sponsor the 2026 Miles for Monarchs fundraising campaign by Monarch Joint Venture! The Miles for Monarchs event raises funds to support Monarch Joint Venture’s crucial monarch butterfly conservation efforts as participants try to complete as many 3,000-mile monarch migrations as possible. The WEST team is excited to walk, run, skate, bike, swim, and paddle (any self-propelled movement) for monarch conservation!

Check out the Miles for Monarch webpage to join in and the Monarch Joint Venture webpage for other ways to support monarch butterfly conservation.
