To support lesser prairie chicken conservation, WEST was contracted by LPC Conservation, LLC to create an easy-to-use preliminary impact analysis tool. This tool aims to assess the impact of a proposed infrastructure project on lesser prairie-chicken habitat, specifically within areas covered by two Habitat Conservation Plans. It is designed based on the methods provided in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service framework for evaluating infrastructure impacts on lesser prairie-chicken habitat. Furthermore, the tool aims to provide users with initial insights into how the proposed project may influence existing conservation strategies for the lesser prairie-chicken.
