What sets WEST’s Optimized Smart Curtailment™ (OSC™) apart from other curtailment approaches? We utilize machine learning techniques to optimize both power production and bat conservation at wind-energy projects. Our model-based approach provides curtailment schedules that optimize bat conservation and power production, without the cost and a lifetime of equipment maintenance associated with acoustic activated systems.

WEST’s Paul Rabie and Rhett Good are excited to attend the ACP PEAK Conference in Austin this week! We look forward to connecting with industry leaders and learning from those driving performance optimization in wind energy projects.

Visit us at Booth #12!

Paul will also be presenting a poster showcasing the potential of OSC. His presentation highlights a validation study where a client estimated that WEST OSC recovered 54% of the power lost to blanket curtailment at a wind-energy site—while saving just as many bats as with basic curtailment strategies.

Can’t make it in person? An online version of the poster, complete with voice-over, is available at 2025 ACP PEAK: Performance, Modeling & Assessment Conference
