Avian Protection Plans (APPs) are used by electric utilities and power generation companies, and are designed to reduce negative avian interactions with electric infrastructure, thereby minimizing operational impacts and risks to birds. Strategies and practices outlined in an APP can address impacts and mitigation related to distribution lines, transmission lines including generation-tie (gen-tie) lines, substations, and aboveground collector lines.
WEST experts have extensive experience developing and implementing APPs and have managed and prepared APPs for entities across the US ranging from small-scale electric cooperatives to multi-state, investor-owned utilities, as well as renewable energy generation companies.
