Our detection dog handlers use their own dogs for this job. They have an existing bond that allows them to effectively and efficiently learn new skills together. WEST puts potential and current detection dog teams through a rigorous training protocol based on the best available science to ensure project data are collected with the highest accuracy and integrity. After completing the training protocol, all detection dog teams undergo a double-blind evaluation in the field to ensure their training is proven in an operational setting.
